Removal and Replacement

Starter:




Starter

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1




4. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect terminal 50 of the connector from the starter assembly.
b. Open the terminal cap, remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from terminal 30.




c. Remove the 2 bolts and the starter assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 37 N.m (380 kgf.cm, 26 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the wire harness to terminal 30 and install the nut.

Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf)

c. Cover the nut with the cap.
d. Connect terminal 50 to the starter assembly.

2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET NO.1
3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE
4. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the battery terminal
