Horn Button Assy Replacement

Horn Button Assy:

REPLACEMENT

1. PRECAUTION
Refer to Air Bag Systems; Service Precautions.
2. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY

NOTE: If the airbag connector is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON or ACC, DTCs will be recorded.




a. Place the front wheels facing straight ahead.
b. Using a torx socket wrench (T30), loosen the 2 torx screws until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case.




c. Pull out the horn button assembly from the steering wheel assembly.
d. Disconnect the airbag connectors and horn connector, and remove the horn button assembly.

4. INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the airbag connectors and horn connector.
b. Install the horn button assembly after confirming that the circumference groove of the torx screws is caught on the screw case.
c. Using a torx socket wrench(T30), install the 2 screws.

Torque: 8.8 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 78 in.lbf)

6. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
