Air Injection Control Valve: Service and Repair

AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSY REPLACEMENT

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER NO.2
3. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSY




a. Unfasten the 3 clips, then remove the wire harness protector.




b. Remove the 2 nuts, then remove the cooler refrigerant suction hose No. 1.




c. Disconnect the air injection system No. 6 hose.
d. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
e. Disconnect the pressure sensor (turbo pressure sensor) connector.




f. Remove the 2 bolts.
g. Disconnect the air injection system No. 1 hose, then remove the air switching valve.

4. REMOVE PRESSURE SENSOR (TURBO PRESSURE SENSOR)




a. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the air switching valve.
b. Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the pressure sensor (turbo pressure sensor).

5. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE BRACKET




a. Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the air switching valve bracket and gasket.

6. INSTALL AIR SWITCHING VALVE BRACKET




a. Install a new gasket and the air switching valve bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

7. INSTALL PRESSURE SENSOR (TURBO PRESSURE SENSOR)




a. Install the pressure sensor (turbo pressure sensor) with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

b. Connect the vacuum hose to the air switching valve.

8. INSTALL AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSY




a. Connect the air injection system No. 1 hose.
b. Install the air switching valve with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 21 N.m (209 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)




c. Connect the turbo pressure sensor (turbo pressure sensor) connector.
d. Connect the vacuum hose.
e. Connect the air injection system No. 6 hose.




f. Install the cooler refrigerant suction hose No. 1 with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)




g. Install the wire harness protector.

9. INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD COVER NO.2
10. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
