INSPECTIONINSPECT FUEL PUMP
a. Check resistance.
1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Standard:
If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.
b. Check the operation
1. Apply battery voltage to both terminals. Check that the pump operates.
NOTE:
- These tests must be done quickly (for less than 10 seconds) to prevent the coil burnout.
- Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
- Always do the switching at the battery side.
If the motor does not operate, replace the fuel pump.
