REMOVAL1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
Using a screwdriver, remove the front door scuff plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING COVER
Using a screwdriver, remove the front door opening cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION
5. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK
6. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK SIDE HINGE
Remove the bolt and hinge.
7. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL
a. Using a screwdriver, remove and open the 2 screw covers of the rear assist grip.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the 2 screws and rear assist grip.
c. Using a screwdriver, remove the quarter trim panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
8. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH
a. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.
b. Remove a screw and coat hook.
c. Remove a clip.
d. Using a screwdriver, remove the roof side inner garnish.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
9. REMOVE ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP
a. Remove the 4 clips.
b. Using a knife, cut the caulking sponge and remove the roof side rail weatherstrip.
10. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS
a. Using a knife, out off the moulding as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Do not damage the body with knife.
b. Remove the remaining moulding.
c. Disconnect the connector.
d. Push a piano wire through from the interior.
e. Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.
HINT: Apply protective tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched.
NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and exterior.
f. Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it.
HINT: Cut the adhesive areas as shown in the illustration, leaving the adhesive where the clips are.
g. Push the piano wire through as shown in the illustration, cut off the adhered parts to the clips.
h. Remove the glass.
NOTE: Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible when cutting off the glass.
INSTALLATION
1. CLEAN AND SHAPE CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY PANEL
a. Using a knife, cut away any rough areas on the body.
HINT: Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible.
b. Clean the cutting surface of the adhesive with a piece of shop rag saturated in cleaner.
HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the body.
2. CLEAN CONTACT SURFACE OF NEW GLASS
Using a cleaner, clean the contact surface which is black-colored area around the entire glass rim.
NOTE: Do not touch the glass face after cleaning it.
3. COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY WITH PRIMER "M"
Using a brush, coat Primer M to the exposed part of body on the vehicle side.
NOTE:
- Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not coat Primer M to the adhesive.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer M for later use.
4. COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF NEW GLASS WITH PRIMER "G"
a. Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G as shown in the illustration.
b. When the primer is coated wrongly to the area other than the specified, wipe it off with a clean shop rag before the primer dries.
NOTE:
- Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer G for later use.
5. APPLY ADHESIVE
a. Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle
Part No. 08850-00801 or equivalent.
HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in the table.
b. Load the cartridge into the sealer gun.
c. Coat the new glass with adhesive as shown in the illustration.
Adhesive height: 12.0 mm (0.472 in.)
Adhesive width: 8.0 mm (0.315 in.)
6. INSTALL NEW GLASS
a. Install new glass to the body.
b. Hold the glass in place securely with a protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens.
NOTE: Take care not to drive the vehicle during the time described in the table.
7. INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR
a. Conduct a leak test after the hardening time has elapsed.
b. Seal any leak with sealant.
Part No. 08B33-0030 or equivalent.
8. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP
a. Apply the caulking sponge to the roof side rail weatherstrip.
b. Install the roof side rail weatherstrip with the 4 clips.
9. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH
a. Install the roof side inner garnish and clip.
b. Install the coat hook with the screw.
c. Install the front seat outer belt shoulder anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
10. INSTALL QUARTER TRIM PANEL
a. Install the quarter trim panel.
b. Install and close the 2 screw covers of the rear assist grip.
c. Install the rear assist grip with the 2 screws.
11. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK SIDE HINGE
Install the hinge with the bolt.
Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
12. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK
13. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION
14. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
Install the front pillar garnish to the body.
15. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING COVER
16. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
Install the front door scuff plate to the body.
