Component Tests and General Diagnostics

INSPECTION







1. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.




2. INSPECT HI-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY CONTINUITY
Using the ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between the terminals.
If continuity is not as specified, replace the bulb or light assembly.







3. INSPECT LIGHT FAILURE RELAY CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the relay and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in the table.

If the circuit is as specified, replace the relay.
If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.
