TERMINALS OF ECU

Terminals Of ECU:

1. CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER
a. Disconnect the 114 transponder key amplifier connector, and check the continuity of each terminal of the wire harness side connector.

Standard:

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

b. Reconnect the I14 transponder key amplifier connector, and check the voltage each terminal of the connector.

Standard:

If the result is not as specified, the transponder key amplifier may be defective.

c. Using an oscilloscope, inspect.

NOTE: The waveform provided on this text does not include noise and chattering.

HINT: If the result is not as specified, the transponder key amplifier may malfunction.

d. Set the oscilloscope at 5 V/DIV and 10 ms/DIV, and insert the key in the ignition key cylinder. Check the waveform 1 between the terminal 114-4 and 114-7 of the transponder key amplifier.

Standard:

e. Set the oscilloscope at 5 V/DIV and 10 ms/DIV, and insert the key in the ignition key cylinder. Check the waveform 2 between the terminal I14-3 and I14-7 of the transponder key amplifier.

Standard:

f. Set the oscilloscope at 2 V/DIV and 10 ms/DIV, and insert the key in the ignition key cylinder. Check the waveform 3 between the terminal I14-5 and I14-7 of the transponder key amplifier.

Standard:

Check ECM:

2. CHECK ECM
a. Check the voltage and continuity of each terminal of the wire harness side connectors.

NOTE:
- The check should be started from the backside of the ECM with the ECM connector being connected.
- Inspect the power source voltage (ignition switch ON: 10 - 14 V) and the body ground (ignition switch OFF: below 5 Ohm (each ground terminal engine ground, body ground)) before the check.

Standard:

If the result is not as specified, the ECM may malfunction.

b. Using an oscilloscope, inspect.

NOTE: The waveform provided on this text does not include noise and chattering.

HINT: If the result is not as specified, the ECM may malfunction.

c. Set the oscilloscope at 5 V/DIV and 10 ms/DIV, and insert the key in the ignition key cylinder. Check the waveform 1 between the terminal E7-15 and E8-1 of the ECM.

Standard:

d. Set the oscilloscope at 5 V/DIV and 10 ms/DIV, and insert the key in the ignition key cylinder. Check the waveform 2 between the terminal E7-27 and E8-1 of the ECM.

Standard:

e. Set the oscilloscope at 2 V/DIV and 10 ms/DIV, and insert the key in the ignition key cylinder. Check the waveform 3 between the terminal E7-26 and E8-1 of the ECM.

Standard:
