Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Throttle Body:
REMOVAL
1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE AND CAP
a. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.
b. Disconnect the VSV connector for canister closed valve.
c. Disconnect the air hose for EVAP from air cleaner cap.
d. Loosen the air cleaner hose clamp bolt.
e. Disconnect the 2 air cleaner cap clips.
f. Disconnect the air cleaner hose from the throttle body, and remove the air cleaner cap together wit the air cleaner hose.
4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
a. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
b. Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
c. Disconnect the PCV hose from throttle body.
d. Disconnect the 2 water bypass hoses.
e. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, and disconnect the throttle body from the intake manifold.
f. Remove the throttle body gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY
a. Install a new gasket on the intake manifold, facing the protrusion downward.
b. Install the throttle body and accelerator cable bracket with the bolt and 2 nuts.
Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
c. Connect the 2 water bypass hoses to the throttle body.
d. Connect the IAC valve connector.
e. Connect the throttle position sensor connector.
f. Connect the PCV hose to throttle body.
2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE AND CAP
a. Connect the air cleaner hose to the throttle body, and install the air cleaner cap together with the air cleaner hose.
b. Connect the 2 air cleaner cap clips.
c. Tighten the air cleaner hose clamp bolts.
d. Connect the mass air flow meter connector.
e. Connect the VSV connector for canister closed valve.
f. Connect the air hose for EVAP to the air cleaner cap.
3. FILL RADIATOR WITH ENGINE COOLANT
