ON-VEHICLE REPAIR
1. DISCONNECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CONNECTOR





2. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
a. Disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.
b. Remove the nut, washer and the control shaft lever.
c. Using a screwdriver, pry off the nut stopper.
d. Remove the nut and the nut stopper.
e. Remove the 2 bolts and the park/neutral position switch.
3. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
a. Install the park/neutral position switch with 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
b. Install the nut stopper and the nut.
Torque: 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 inch lbs.)
c. Stake the nut with the lock plate.
d. Install the control shaft lever, washer and nut.
Torque: 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.)
e. Connect the control cable to the control shaft lever.
Torque: 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.)
4. CONNECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CONNECTOR
5. CHECK PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH OPERATION
Check that the engine can be started with the shift lever only in the N or P position, but not in other positions.
If not as started above, carry out the adjustment procedure.
6. TEST DRIVE VEHICLE
