Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE TRANSAXLE w/ ENGINE AND FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER ASSEMBLY
2. SEPARATE TRANSAXLE w/ ENGINE FROM FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the front mount bolt.
Torque: 87 Nm (888 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.)
b. Remove the LH mount bolt.
Torque: 143 Nm (1,460 kgf-cm, 105 ft. lbs.)
c. Remove the RH mount nut.
Torque: 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft. lbs.)
d. Remove the rear mount through bolt and nut.
Torque: 89 Nm (907 kgf-cm, 65 ft. lbs.)
e. Disconnect the PS vane pump.
1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the PS vane pump.
Torque: 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.)
f. Separate the transaxle with engine from the suspension member assembly.
3. REMOVE STARTER
a. Disconnect the starter connector.
b. Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
Torque: 37 Nm (378 kgf-cm, 28 ft. lbs.)
4. DISCONNECT CONNECTORS AND WIRES
a. Disconnect the ground wire.
b. Disconnect the back-up light switch connector.
c. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector.
5. REMOVE ENGINE LH MOUNTING INSULATOR BRACKET
Remove the 4 bolts and engine LH mounting insulator bracket.
Torque: 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.)
6. REMOVE ENGINE FRONT MOUNTING BRACKET
Remove the 3 bolts and engine front mounting bracket.
Torque: 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.)
7. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE PROTECTOR
Remove the 2 bolts and transaxle case protector.
Torque: 18 Nm (180 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs.)
8. SEPARATE TRANSAXLE FROM ENGINE
Remove the 10 bolts, separate the engine and transaxle.
Torque:
64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.) for bolt A
46 Nm (470 kgf-cm, 34 ft. lbs.) for bolt B
44 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.) for bolt C
HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following items.
^ Align the input shaft with the clutch disc and install the transaxle to the engine.
^ Temporarily tighten the transaxle mounting bolts.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
HINT: After installation, check and inspect items as follows.
^ Refill the transaxle oil.
^ Refill and bleed the engine coolant.
^ Refill and bleed the P/S fluid.
^ Check the front wheel alignment.
^ Do the road test.
