DISASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
- Disassembling and reassembling should be conducted on a clean vinyl sheet or mat, or aluminum tray.
- Make the valve slide through the valve hole by its own weight. Do not forcibly pull out the valve using needle nose pliers. When having difficulty in removing it, slant and shake the valve body or use a magnet hand.
- Do not place the disassembled parts directly on metal work bench or waste cloth.
- Do not use dropped parts.
- Make sure that no burr is identified before assembling.
1. CHECK PRIMARY REGULATOR VALVE POSITION
Write down the relative position of the primary regulator valve sleeve, the plug and the pin.
NOTICE: Because the line pressure is changed by the position of the pin and the groove in the sleeve end, make sure to check the position.
2. REMOVE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE
Remove the 5 bolts and 5 shift solenoid valves.
3. REMOVE LOWER AND UPPER VALVE BODY
a. Remove the 14 bolts, cover, 2 gaskets and plate.
NOTICE: Be careful that the check balls do not fall out.
b. Turn over the valve body assembly.
c. Remove the bolt, cover and press relief ball from the upper valve body.
d. Remove the 9 bolts from the upper valve body.
NOTICE:
e. Turn over the valve body assembly.
f. Remove the lower valve body with plate from the upper valve body.
NOTICE: Be careful that the check balls do not fall out.
g. Remove the 3 bolts, cover, C, accumulator piston and spring from the lower valve body.
h. Remove the 2 O-rings from the C, accumulator piston.
i. Remove the 4 bolts, cover, B1 accumulator piston and spring.
j. Remove the 2 O-rings from the B, accumulator piston.
REASSEMBLY
1. ASSEMBLE VALVE BODY
a. Install 2 new O-rings to the B1 accumulator piston
b. Install the spring, B1 accumulator piston, cover and 4 bolts.
Torque: 11 Nm (110 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.)
Spring length: mm (inch)
c. Install 2 new O-rings to the C1 accumulator piston.
d. Install the spring, C1 accumulator piston, cover and 3 bolts.
Torque: 11 Nm (110 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.)
Spring length: mm (inch)
e. Mount the lower valve body with plate on the upper valve body.
f. Turn over the valve body assembly.
g. Install the 9 bolts.
Torque: 11 Nm (110 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.)
h. Install the pressure relief ball, cover and bolt.
Torque: 6.6 Nm (67 kgf-cm, 58 inch lbs.)
2. INSTALL LOWER AND UPPER VALVE BODY
a. Turn over the valve body assembly.
b. Install the 2 gaskets, plate cover and 14 bolts.
Torque:
Bolt A: 6.6 Nm (67 kgf-cm, 58 inch lbs.)
Bolt B: 11 Nm (110 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.)
3. INSTALL SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE
Install the 5 shift solenoid valves and 5 bolts.
Torque:
Bolt length:
Bolt A: 14 mm (0.55 inch)
Bolt B: 55 mm (2.17 inch)
4. CHECK PRIMARY REGULATOR VALVE POSITION
Make sure that the primary regulator valve is positioned in the same place where it was removed.
