Components For Engine Removal (Part 3 Of 3):






1. Remove the cylinder head.






2. Remove the engine hangers.
3. Remove the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and sender for gauge.
4. Remove throttle cable bracket and ground strap.
5. Remove EGR cooler.






6. Remove valve lifters and shims

NOTE: Store the valve lifters and shims in correct order.

7. Remove valves as follows:






(a) Using valve spring compressor Special Service Tool (SST) No. 09202-70020, or equivalent, compress the valve spring and remove the two keepers.
(b) Remove the spring retainer, valve spring, valve and spring seat.

NOTE: Store the valves, valve springs, spring seats and spring retainers in correct order.

(c) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the valve stem oil seal.
