Hand Held Tester Method

DTC Check Using Hand-Held Tester:

PROCEDURE
1. Turn the Ignition Switch OFF.

DLC Connector Diagnostic Terminal ID:

2. Using Special Service Tool (SST 09843-18020), connect terminals Ts and E1 of DLC1.
3. Start the engine.

ABS Warning Light Flashing "Normal" Code:

4. Check that the ABS Warning Light blinks.

NOTE: If the ABS Warning Light does not blink, inspect the ABS Warning Light circuit. ABS Warning Light Circuit

5. Drive vehicle faster than 45 km/h (28 mph) for several seconds.
6. Stop the vehicle.
7. Hook up the hand-held tester to the DLC2.
8. Read the DTC by following the prompts on the tester screen or refer to the scan-tool operator's manual for further details.
9. After doing the check, disconnect the SST from DLC1 connector, disconnect Scantool, and turn Ignition Switch OFF.
