Hand Held Tester Method

DTC Check Using Hand-Held Tester:

PROCEDURE
1. When the Ignition Switch is turned ON, check that the ABS Warning Light goes on for 2 seconds.
2. Turn the Ignition Switch OFF.

Speed Sensor Signal Check:

3. Using Special Service Tool (SST 09843-18020), connect terminals Ts and E1 of DLC1.
4. Start the engine.

Reading Blinks Of The ABS Warning Light:

5. Check that the ABS Warning Light blinks.

NOTE: If the ABS Warning Light does not blink, inspect the ABS Warning Light circuit.

6. Drive vehicle straight forward.
7. Hook up the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC2.
8. Read the DTC by following the prompts on the tester screen.
