Throttle Body: Service and Repair






THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL
1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE
3. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE
- Disconnect the PCV hose.



- Loosen the 2 hose clamps, and remove the air cleaner hose.

5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
- Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
- Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
- Remove the hose clamp
- Disconnect these vacuum hoses:



(1) EVAP hose (from charcoal canister)
(2) Vacuum hose (from port R of EGR vacuum modulator)
(3) Vacuum hose (from port E of EGR vacuum modulator)
(4) EVAP hose (from upper port of TVV)
(5) EVAP hose (from lower port of TVV)

- Disconnect these hoses:



(1) Water bypass hose (from intake manifold)
(2) Water bypass hose (from water inlet housing)
(3) Air assist hose




- Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, EGR gas temperature sensor bracket, throttle body and gasket.
INSTALLATION HINT: Place a new gasket on the air intake chamber.

Torque: 19.5 Nm (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lb)



THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION IS THE REVERSE ORDER OF REMOVAL.
