Testing For Fuel System Leaks

Check for fuel leaks after performing maintenance anywhere on the fuel system.

To Test Fuel Pump Operation, Use A Jumper To Connect Terminals +B And FP:




- Using a jumper wire or SST #09843-18020, connect terminals +B and FP of the DLC1.
- With engine stopped. turn the ignition switch ON.



- Pinch the fuel return hose. The pressure in the high pressure line will rise to about 392 kPa(4 kgf/cm2, 57 psi).
- In this state, check to make sure that there are no leaks from any part of the fuel system.

NOTICE: Always pinch the hose. Avoid bending it as it may cause the hose to crack.

- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Remove the jumper from the DLC1.
