Inspection Using A Toyota Hand-Held Tester
MONITORING ECM DATA1. Hook up the Toyota hand-held tester to the DLC1.
2. Monitor the ECM data by following the prompts on the tester screen.
MEASURING ECM TERMINAL VALUES
1. Hook up the Toyota break-out-box and Toyota hand-held tester to the vehicle.
2. Read the ECM input/output values by following the prompts on the tester screen.
SNAPSHOT FUNCTION
Toyota hand-held tester has a "Snapshot" function. This records the measured values and is effective in the diagnosis of intermittent problems.

Reference Value Of ECM Data:
*1: All accessories and A/C are switched OFF.
*2: If the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) circuit is open or shorted, the ECM assumes an engine coolant temperature value of 8O°C (176°F).
*3: When feedback control is forbidden. 0.0 Volt is displayed.
*4: A/T only.
