Idle Up Control Valve: Testing and Inspection






A/C IDLE-UP VALVE INSPECTION:
1. REMOVE A/C IDLE-UP VALVE.
- Disconnect the following connector and hoses:



(1) A/C Idle-up valve connector.
(2) Air hose (from No.1 air tube) from port E of A/C idle-up valve.
(3) Air hose (from intake manifold) from port F of A/C idle-up valve.

- Remove the bolt and A/C idle-up valve.

2. INSPECT A/C IDLE-UP VALVE FOR OPEN CIRCUIT.



- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the terminals.

Resistance (Cold): 30 - 34 Ohm

- If there is no continuity, replace the A/C idle-up valve.

3. INSPECT A/C IDLE-UP VALVE FOR GROUND.



- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.
- If there is continuity, replace the A/C idle-up valve.

4. INSPECT A/C IDLE-UP VALVE OPERATION.



- Check that air does not flow from port E to port F.




- Apply battery voltage across the terminals.
- Check that air flows from port E to port F.

- If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C idle- up valve.

5. REINSTALL A/C IDLE-UP VALVE.
- Install the A/C idle-up valve with the bolt.
- Connect the following connector and hoses:



(1) A/C Idle-up valve connector.
(2) Air hose (from No.1 air tube) to port E of A/C idle-up valve.
(3) Air hose (from intake manifold) to port F of A/C idle-up valve.
