Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Testing and Inspection
IAT SENSOR INSPECTIONIntake Air Temperature Sensor:
1. REMOVE IAT SENSOR.
2. INSPECT IAT SENSOR.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Temperature | Resistance
-20°C (-4°F) | 10.0 - 20.0 k Ohms
0°C (32°F) | 4.0 - 7.0 k Ohms
20°C (68°F) | 2.0 - 3.0 k Ohms
40°C (104°F) | 0.9 - 1.3 k Ohms
60°C (140°F) | 0.4 - 0.7 k Ohms
80°C (176°F) | 0.2 - 0.4 k Ohms
- If the resistance is not as specified. replace the sensor.
3. REINSTALL IAT SENSOR.
