Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection

CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY INSPECTION




1. REMOVE CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY.
2. INSPECT CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY.
A. Inspect relay continuity



- Using and ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals STA and E1.
- Check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FC.
- Check that there is no continuity between terminals +B and FP.
- If continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.

B. Inspect relay operation



- Apply battery voltage across terminals STA and E1.
- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FP.




- Apply battery voltage across terminals +B and FC.
- Check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FP.

- If operation is not as specified, replace the relay.

3. REINSTALL CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY.
