Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURES1. DISCONNECT HOSES FROM INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.
- Disconnect these hoses:
- Brake booster vacuum hose
- A/C idle-up air hose
- Actuator vacuum hose
- Disconnect the DLC1.
2. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.
- Remove the 4 nuts and DLC1 bracket, and disconnect the ground strap and cable.
- Remove the intake air control valve by prying a screw- driver between the intake air control valve and air intake chamber.
- Remove the gasket.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
1. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.
- Install a new gasket to the air intake chamber.
- Apply a light coat of engine oil to the rubber portions.
- Apply seal packing to the positions of the intake air control valve shown in the illustration.
- Seal packing: Part No.08826-00080 or equivalent
- Install the intake air control valve, DLC1 bracket and ground strap and cable with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 14.5 Nm (145 kgf.cm; 10 ft.lb)
2. CONNECT HOSES TO INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.
- Connect these hoses:
- Brake booster vacuum hose
- A/C idle-up air hose
- Actuator vacuum hose
- Install the DLC1.
