CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INSPECTION

NOTICE:"Cold" and "Hot" in the following sentences express the temperature of the sensor itself.
Cold is from -10°C (140° F) to 50°C (122°F)
Hot is from 50°C (122°F) to 10O°C (212°F)


1. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.



- Remove RH fender apron seal



- Remove the bolt and disconnect the crankshaft position sensor.
- Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.

2. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE.



- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals.

Cold: 1,630 - 2,740 0hms
Hot: 2,060 - 3,225 0hms


- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the crankshaft position sensor

3. REINSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.
- Installation is the reverse of removal.

Torque: 8 Nm (80 kg.cm, 69 in.lb)
