Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair






REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT HOSES FROM INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.
a. Disconnect these hoses:



1. Brake booster vacuum hose.
2. A/C idle-up air hose.
3. Actuator vacuum hose.
b. Disconnect the DLC1.

2. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.



- Remove the 4 nuts and DLC1 bracket, and disconnect the ground strap and cable.
- Remove the intake air control valve by prying a screwdriver between the intake air control valve and air intake chamber.
- Remove the gasket.


INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.



- Install a new gasket to the air intake chamber.
- Apply a light coat of engine oil to the rubber portions.



- Apply seal packing to the positions of the intake air control valve shown in the illustration.
- Seal packing: Part No.08826-00080 or equivalent.
- Install the intake air control valve, DLC1 bracket and ground strap and cable with the 4 nuts.

Torque: 14.5 N.m (10 ft.lb)

2. CONNECT HOSES TO INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE.
a. Connect these hoses:



1. Brake booster vacuum hose.
2. A/C idle-up air hose.
3. Actuator vacuum hose.
b. Install the DLC1.
