Throttle Body: Service and Repair






INSTALLATION HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE.
3. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE.
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE.
- Disconnect the PCV hose.



- Loosen the 2 hose clamps, and remove the air cleaner hose.

5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY.
- Disconnect the throttle position senser connector.
- Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
- Federal Vehicles: Remove the hose clamp.
- Disconnect these vacuum hoses:



- Federal Vehicles: EVAP hose (from charcoal canister).
- Vacuum hose (from port R of EGR vacuum modulator).
- Vacuum hose (from port E of EGR vacuum modulator).
- Federal Vehicles: EVAP hose (from upper port of TVV).
- Federal Vehicles: EVAP hose (from lower port of TVV).
- Disconnect these hoses:



- Water bypass hose (from intake manifold).
- Water bypass hose (from water inlet housing).
- Air assist hose.



- Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, EGR gas temperature sensor bracket, throttle body and gasket.

INSTALLATION HINT: Place a new gasket on the air intake chamber.

Torque: 19.5 Nm (14 ft.lb)
