Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

ECT SENSOR INSPECTION

1. Drain Engine Coolant

2. Remove Engine Cooland Temperature (ECT) Sensor

3. Inspect ECT Sensor






Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.





Resistance: Refer to the graph

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ECT sensor.

4. Reinstall ECT Sensor

5. Refill With Engine Coolant
