Shift Solenoids
SHIFT SOLENOIDS - NO. 1 & 2 AND LOCK-UP SOLENOID VALVES1. Disconnect the connector from Engine Control Module (ECM).
2. Measure the resistance between S1, S2, SL and body ground.
Resistance: 11-15 ohms
3. Apply battery positive voltage to each terminal.
Check that an operation noise can be heard from the solenoid.
SHIFT SOLENOID SEALS
If there is foreign material in the solenoid valve, there will be no fluid control even with solenoid operation. Check No. 1, No. 2 and lock-up solenoid valves.
- Applying 490 kPa (5 kgf/cm2, 71 psi) of compressed air, check that the solenoid valves do not leak the air.
- When supply battery positive voltage is supplied to the solenoids, check that the solenoid valves open.
