Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

VAF METER REMOVAL:






1. DISCONNECT VOLUME AIR FLOW (VAF) METER CONNECTOR.
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND VAF METER ASSEMBLY.



- Disconnect the air cleaner hose from the VAF meter.
- Disconnect the 4 clamps, and remove the air cleaner cap and VAF meter assembly.
3. REMOVE VAF METER FROM Air CLEANER CAP.
- Remove the bolt holding the bracket to air cleaner cap.



- Pry off the lock plate.
- Remove the 4 nuts, 3 plate washers and lock plate.
- Remove the VAF meter, gasket and 4 collars.


VAF METER INSTALLATION:
1. INSTALL VAF METER TO AIR CLEANER CAP.



- Place a new gasket and the 4 collars on the VAF meter.



- Install the VAF meter with the lock plate, 3 plate washers and 4 nuts.
- Secure the nut with the lock plate.
- Install the bolt holding the bracket and air cleaner cap.

2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP AND VAF METER ASSEMBLY.



- Install the air cleaner cap to the VAF meter with the 4 clamps.
- Connect the air cleaner hose to the VAF meter.
3. CONNECT VAF METER CONNECTOR.
