ECM Inspection

ECM INSPECTION

NOTE: The MFI circuit can be checked by measuring the resistance and voltage at the wiring connectors of the ECM.

1. REMOVE FLOORMAT BRACKET

2. PREPARATION

(a) Disconnect the 3 connectors from the ECM.
(b) Remove the locks as shown in the illustration so that the tester probe(s) can easily come in.

CAUTION: Pay attention to sections "A" and "B" in the illustration which can easily broken.

(c) Reconnect the 3 connectors to the ECM.

3. INSPECT VOLTAGE OF ECM

(a) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(b) Measure the voltage between each terminal of the wiring connectors.

NOTE:
- Perform all voltage measurements with the connectors connected.
- Verify that the battery voltage is 11 V or more when the ignition switch is ON.

Except 7A-FE Automatic Transaxle:

7A-FE With Automatic Transaxle:

Standard Voltage Values

4. INSPECT RESISTANCE OF ECM

(a) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
(b) Disconnect the 3 connectors from the ECM.

(c) Measure the resistance between each terminal of the wiring connectors.

CAUTION:
- Do not touch the ECM terminals.
- The tester probe should be inserted in the wiring connector from the wiring side.

Standard Resistance Values

5. INSTALL ECM

(a) Insert the ECM to the bracket.

(b) Connect the 3 connectors to the ECM.

6. INSTALL FLOORMAT BRACKET
