Deployment Inside Vehicle

If vehicle is to be scrapped, air bag must be deployed before scrapping.
1. Disarm airbag system as described under Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove necessary instrument panel portions and glove compartment items, then disconnect air bag electrical connector.




3. Connect special air bag deployment tool No. 09082-00700, or equivalent, to air bag connector, Fig. 24.
4. Close all vehicle doors and windows.
5. Move deployment tool at least 33 feet from vehicle.
6. Connect tool to a fully charged 12 volt battery.
7. Ensure no people, animals or objects are within 33 feet of air bag.
8. Press deployment button and deploy air bag.
9. If air bag does not deploy, consult dealer for disposal procedures.
