Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR ADJUSTMENT
1. Remove throttle body.
Refer to Throttle Body Service under Fuel Delivery and Air Induction
Service and Repair




2. Loosen the 2 set screws of the sensor.



3. Insert a 0.60 mm (0.024 in) feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and stop lever.



4. Connect the tester probe of an ohmmeter to the terminals IDL and E2 of the sensor.



5. Gradually turn the sensor clockwise until the ohmmeter deflects, and secure it with the 2 set screws.



6. Recheck the continuity between terminals IDL and E2.

Clearance between
lever and stop screw / (IDL - E2)

0.50 mm (0.020 in) / Continuity
0.70 mm (0.028 in) / No continuity
