INSPECTION

1. APPLY VACUUM TO THE THROTTLE OPENER.
2. DISCONNECT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR.
3. INSERT A THICKNESS GAUGE BETWEEN THE THROTTLE STOP SCREW AND STOP LEVER.

4. USING AN OHMMETER MEASURE THE RESISTANCE BETWEEN EACH TERMINAL.

Clearance between Between Resistance
lever and stop screw terminals
0.0 mm (0.0 in) VTA - E2 0.2 - 5.7 k Ohms
Wide open throttle VTA - E2 2.0 - 10.2 k Ohms
Always VC - E2 2.5 - 5.9 k Ohms
0.35 mm (0.014 in) IDL - E2 2.3 k Ohms or less
0.70 mm (0.028 in) IDL - E2 Infinity

5. IF NECESSARY, ADJUST THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND RETEST.
6. RECONNECT THE SENSOR CONNECTOR.
