PURPOSE
The camshaft position sensors (pickup coils), located in the distributor produce the G1 and G2 signals. The NE signal is produced by the engine rpm sensor, also located in the distributor though separate, which works in conjunction with the camshaft position sensors to produce output pulses to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM uses these signals to determine engine speed and relative top dead center for each cylinder.
