Main Relay (Computer/Fuel System): Testing and Inspection

1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.

CAUTION: Work must not be started for at least 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch Is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.




2. REMOVE "EFI MAIN" RELAY.



3. INSPECT "EFI MAIN" RELAY CONTINUITY.
- Using an ohmmeter check that there IS continuity between terminals 1 and 2.
- Check that there is NO continuity between terminals 3 and 5.
- If continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.



4. INSPECT "EFI MAIN" RELAY OPERATION.
- Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 2.
- Using an ohmmeter check that there is continuity between terminals 3 and 5.
- If operation is not as specified replace the relay.
5. REINSTALL "EFI MAIN" RELAY.
6. RECONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY.
