Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

NOTE: On models with coded audio anti-theft systems, refer to Technician Safety Information for code procedures. On models with air bag system, disarm airbag system as outlined under Technician Safety Information.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel, then upper and lower covers.
3. Disconnect electrical connectors from ignition switch.
4. Turn ignition key to ACC position and remove ignition key cylinder.
5. Remove screw and ignition switch.
6. Reverse procedure to install. On models with air bag system, rearm airbag system as outlined under Technician Safety Information. If audio system was disabled, activate as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
