Fuel Cut RPM Inspection

Warm Up Engine
- Allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature.


Tachometer Connection:





Connect Tachometer
- Connect the test probe of a tachometer to terminal IG- of the check connector.

NOTICE:
^ NEVER allow the tachometer terminal to touch ground as it could result in damage to the igniter and/or ignition coil.
^ As some tachometers are not compatible with this ignition system, we recommend that you confirm the compatibility of your unit before use.


TPS Connector Identification:





Inspect Fuel Cut RPM
- Disconnect the connector from the throttle position sensor.
- Connect terminals IDL and E2 of the wiring connector.
- Gradually raise the engine rpm and check that there is fluctuation between the fuel cut and fuel return points.

NOTE:
^ The vehicle should be stopped.
^ Measure with the A/C OFF.


Fuel cut rpm: 2,300 rpm
Fuel return rpm: 1,700 rpm
