Checking For Spark:

Check That Spark Occurs
- Disconnect the high-tension cord from the spark plug.
- Remove the spark plug.
- Install the spark plug to the high-tension cord. Ground the spark plug.
- Check if spark occurs while engine is being cranked.

HINT: To prevent gasoline from being injected from injectors during this test, crank the engine for no more than 1-2 seconds at a time.

- If spark is not present, proceed to Ignition System Troubleshooting below.
- If spark is present, proceed to STA - E1 circuit inspection.
