Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor is mounted in the Mass Air Flow Meter. It measures the temperature of incoming intake (ambient) air, so the ECM can adjust injection duration. This aids with improvement in fuel atomization and decreases carbonizing within the engine.

OPERATION
The THA inputs the ECU through terminal THA.
