Intermittent & Washer Switch

1. Inspect intermittent switch operation as follows:
a. Place wiper switch in INT position.
b. Connect battery positive lead to terminal 2 and negative lead to terminal 4.
c. Connect voltmeter positive lead to terminal 3 and negative lead to terminal 4, needle sweep indicates battery voltage.
d. Using suitable wire, connect terminals 5 and 2, then connect terminal 4.
e. Battery voltage should rise from zero volts to battery voltage, to battery charge within 3-5 seconds.
f. If operation is not as indicated, replace switch.
2. Inspect washer switch operation as follows:
a. Connect positive battery lead to terminal 2 and negative to terminal 4.
b. Connect voltmeter positive lead to terminal 3 and negative to terminal 4.
c. Depress washer switch, ensuring voltage is as indicated in Fig. 17.
d. If operation is not as indicated, replace switch.
