ABS Main Relay: Testing and Inspection

2-WD
1. Inspect continuity of motor relay circuit.
a. Check for continuity between terminals 5 and 7.
b. Check for no continuity between terminals 1 and 3.
NOTE: If continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.
2. Inspect operation of motor relay circuit.
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminals 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 7.
b. Check for continuity between terminals 1 and 3.
NOTE: If relay operation is not as specified, replace the relay.
3. Inspect continuity of solenoid relay circuit.
a. Check for continuity between terminals 6 and 7.
b. Check for no continuity between terminals 2 and 4.
c. Check for continuity between terminals 2 and 10 or 8.
d. Connect the positive lead from the ohmmeter to terminal 2 and connect negative lead to terminal 9. Check for continuity between terminals.
e. Connect the two leads in reverse, and check for no continuity between terminals.
NOTE: If relay continuity is not as specified, replace relay.
4. Inspect operation of solenoid relay circuit.
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7.
b. Check for continuity between terminal 2 and 4.
NOTE: If relay operation is not as specified, replace the relay.

4-WD
1. Remove pump motor relay from the actuator.
2. Inspect pump motor relay continuity.
a. Check for continuity between terminals 1 and 2.
b. Check for no continuity between terminals 3 and 4 and terminals 1 and 4.
3. Inspect pump motor relay operation.
a. Apply 12.0 volts to terminals 1 and 2.
b. Check for continuity between terminals 3 and 4.
c. Check for no continuity between terminals 1 and 4.
NOTE: If relay operation is not as specified, replace the relay.
4. Remove solenoid relay from the actuator.
5. Inspect solenoid relay continuity.
a. Check for continuity between terminals 1 and 3 and terminals 2 and 4.
b. Check for no continuity between terminals 4 and 5.
6. Inspect solenoid relay operation.
a. Apply 12.0 volts to terminals 1 and 3.
b. Check for continuity between 4 and 5.
c. Check for no continuity between terminals 2 and 4.
