Intercooler ECU

"CHECK ENGINE" WARNING LIGHT:

1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Check that the "CHECK ENGINE" warning light illuminates on the dash panel.
3. Start the engine and ensure that the light goes out.
4. If it does not, refer to COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS for diagnosis of the ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
5. Disconnect the Intercooler coolant level warning sensor connector.

6. Check that the "CHECK ENGINE" warning light does not illuminate.
7. Open the throttle valve and check that the light comes ON after approximately 20 seconds.
8. Reconnect the Intercooler coolant level warning sensor connector and check that the light goes out.

9. If it does not, refer to COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS for diagnosis of the ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.

INTERCOOLER ECU CIRCUIT TEST:

1. Locate the Intercooler ECU under the instrument panel on the passenger side.
2. Disconnect the connector to the ECU.

3. Using a DVOM, test the harness side of the connector per the diagnostic chart.

4. If a problem is found, repair wiring or component as required.
5. If wiring and components are functioning properly, yet the Intercooler Water Pump or "CHECK ENGINE" warning light still does not work properly, replace the Intercooler ECU.
6. Reconnect the Intercooler ECU connector.
