Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

CHECK SIGNAL GENERATOR (PICKUP COIL)





Using an ohmmeter, check each resistance of the two signal generators (pickup coils).

G pickup coil resistance:
G -> G- 140 - 180 Ohms

Ne pickup coil resistance:
Ne -> G- 140 - 180 Ohms

If the resistance is not correct, replace the distributor.


INSPECT AIR GAP





Using a thickness gauge, measure the gap between the signal rotor and the signal generators (pickup coils) projection.

Air gap: 0.2 - 0.4 mm (0.008 - 0.016 in.)

If not, replace the distributor.
