II. Replacement of EBCV

(a) Remove the bolt and wingnut.

(b) Disconnect the following hoses:

1) AS hose
2) HAI duct
3) PCV hose
4) HIC hose

(c) Remove the air cleaner housing.

2. REMOVE EBCV WITH VACUUM HOSES

(a) Disconnect the following vacuum hoses:

1) From EBCV to HAC
2) From EBCV to carburetor

(b) Remove two hoses and reclamp the other hoses.

(c) Disconnect the following connectors:

1) EBCV connector
2) Vacuum switch connector

(d) Remove two bolts and the EBCV and bracket assembly from strut tower.

(e) Remove EBCV wire harness from bracket clamp.

(f) Remove the bolt and nut that clamps the EBCV in the mounting bracket.

(g) Remove EBCV from bracket with vacuum hoses and discard.

NOTE:
Do not distort the EBCV bracket.

3. INSTALL EBCV KIT

(a) Verify the EBCV part number, 3-Way connectors and vacuum hoses of the EBCV kit.

KIT Type/Part No.

(b) Install EBCV to bracket with bolt and nut.

NOTE:
Be sure that rim of the EBCV fits securely into the claw on the bracket.

(c) Install EBCV to strut to tower with two bolts.

(d) Connect the following vacuum hoses:

1) From EBCV "M" port (Brown 3-Way A/T, Red 3-Way M/T) to HAC center port.
2) From EBCV "S" port (White 3-Way A/T, Blue 3-Way M/T) to HAC right-side port.
3) From EBCV "M" port (Brown A/T, Red M/T) to Primary Main Air Bleed port.
4) From EBCV "S" port (White A/T, Blue M/T) to Slow Air Bleed port.

(e) Clamp the two hoses shown in the illustration.

(f) Place the EBCV wire harness in the bracket clamp.

(g) Connect the following connectors:
1) EBCV connector
2) Vacuum switch connector

NOTE:
VERIFY HOSE ROUTING AND INSTALLATION.

4. REINSTALL AIR CLEANER HOUSING

(a) Connect the following hoses:
1) HIC hose
2) PCV hose
3) HAI duct
4) AS hose

(b) Reinstall the air cleaner housing with the bolt and nut.
