TITLE
REVISED HYDR. BYS. BLEEDING INSTRUCTIONS FOR '87-'89 ST CONVERT.


When performing maintenance on the Celica Convertible hydraulic system, please follow the instructions listed below:


1. With top closed, make sure reservoir is filled to the lower mark. (see Figure).


2. Open top manually by pushing on number one bow until it is 1 foot from header.

3. For pumps with T-handle by-pass valve, open valve two full turns. For pumps with black plastic handle, open valve 1/4 turn. Manually retract top to the down position.

4. Rock power switch back and forth twice to clear air in by-pass valve.

5. Close by-pass valve and cycle top up and down twice with power switch.

6. Check oil level with top down. If needed add 10W or 10W-30 oil to the upper fill line on reservoir. Clean and install filler plug. Torque to 20-25 in.lbs (23-29 kg. cm)

NOTE:
Air bubbles 4" long or less in hydraulic lines are acceptable and will not affect top operation.

7. Close top.
