Assembly of Valve Body Assembly

ASSEMBLY OF VALVE BODY




NOTE: Install the lower valve body on the upper valve body together with the plate.

1. POSITION NEW GASKET AND PLATE ON LOWER VALVE BODY



NOTE: As shown above, match the large cooler by-pass valve hole with that in the lower valve body.




a. Place the gasket and plate onto the lower valve body.
b. Align each bolt hole in the valve body with the gasket and plate.




2. POSITION NEW GASKET ON UPPER VALVE BODY
Align the gasket at each bolt hole.




3. PLACE LOWER VALVE BODY WITH PLATE ON TOP OF UPPER VALVE BODY

NOTE: Hold the lower valve body and plate securely so they do not separate.

Align each bolt hole in the valve bodies with a gasket and plate.




4. INSTALL AND FINGER TIGHTEN THE THREE BOLTS IN LOWER VALVE BODY TO SECURE UPPER VALVE BODY

NOTE: Each bolt length (mm) is indicated in the figure




5. TURN ASSEMBLY OVER AND FINGER TIGHTEN THE THREE BOLTS IN UPPER VALVE BODY

NOTE: Each bolt length (mm) is indicated in the figure.

6. INSTALL UPPER VALVE BODY COVER AND STRAINER




a. Install a new gasket, plate and another new gasket.
b. I Install the strainer onto the plate.




c. Install the valve body cover and finger tighten the nine bolts.

NOTE: Each bolt length (mm) is indicated in the figure.




7. INSTALL LOWER VALVE BODY COVER
a. Install the cover over the gasket.
b. Finger tighten the ten bolts as shown in the figure.

NOTE: Each bolt length (mm) is indicated in the figure.




8. INSTALL NO.1 AND NO.2 SOLENOIDS
a. Install the No.2 solenoid onto the lower valve body.
b. Tighten the bolt.
c. Install the No.1 solenoid onto the lower valve body.
d. Tighten the two bolts.

NOTE: Each bolt length (mm) is indicated in the figure.




9. TIGHTEN BOLTS OF UPPER AND LOWER VALVE BODIES
Recheck the alignment of the gaskets. Tighten the bolts.

Torque: 55 kg.cm (48 in.-lb, 5.4 N.m)




10. TURN ASSEMBLY OVER AND TIGHTEN BOLTS ON LOWER VALVE BODY

Torque: 55 kg.cm (48 in.-lb, 5.4 N.m)
