A revised TCCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is now available for 1986 through 1989 Celica GT-S to provide smoother acceleration during cold engine operation.

SERVICING PROCEDURE:

1. Before replacing the ECU, perform a thorough inspection to verify that all engine mechanical, fuel, and electrical/electronic systems are operating to specifications.
2. Replace the ECU. Refer to figure 1 for location of the ECU.
3. Two cans of Toyota Fuel Injector Cleaner should be added to a full tank of fuel when replacing the ECU to ensure maximum improvement in cold driveability.
PARTS RETURN INFORMATION:

Remanufactured Ecu's are rebuilt by Nippondenso-Los Angeles (NDLA). In order to maintain availability of rebuilt units, the original ECU must be sent to NDLA as soon as it has been replaced.
