Condition - Instructions for wiring connections in 1987 Camry Installation Manual for Intrusion Monitoring System are incorrect.

Cause - Wiring on 1987 Camry vehicles was changed between Prototype and Final Production vehicles.

Correction - The diagram shown below replaces the diagram in Step F - Wiring Harness Part 2 - of the Camry Installation instructions. Disregard the original wiring instruction.

Connect the IMS wires to the vehicle wires as follows:

Red Battery Red In opening between driver s
Power door and fuse box, blue
single pin connector.

Green Ground White/Black In opening between driver
door and fuse box. large thirteen pin white connector bottom row. Note: deluxe model has only three wires in this connector, LE model has as many as thirteen, depending on options installed.
