EXCEPT 3S-GE ENGINE

1. Disconnect electrical connector to switch and measure resistance between switch terminals Fig. 40.
2. Resistance should be 20 - 40 ohms below 86 degrees F and 40 - 60 ohms above 104 degrees F.
3. Measure resistance between STA (B+) terminal and ground. Resistance should be 20 - 80 ohms.
4. If resistance is not within specifications, switch is defective.

3S-GE ENGINE

1. Disconnect electrical connector to switch and measure resistance between switch terminals Fig. 40.
2. Resistance should be 30 - 50 ohms below 50 degrees F and 70 - 90 ohms above 77 degrees F.
3. Measure resistance between STA (B+) terminal and ground. Resistance should be 30 - 90 ohms.
4. If resistance is not within specifications, switch is defective.
