Canadian Vehicles
1. Disconnect and plug the vacuum hoses to the IIA diaphragm as shown.
2. Connect a timing light to the engine.
3. Start the engine and let it idle. Idle should be no more than 950 rpm, adjust as necessary.
4. Loosen the set bolt and slowly turn the IIA until the timing mark on the crank pulley, when illuminated by the timing light, indicates 5° BTDC.
5. Tighten the set bolt and ensure that the ignition timing is still at spec.
6. Reconnect the vacuum hoses to the IIA diaphragm.
7. Check that the ignition timing advances to 16° BTDC.
