The ECU monitors intake manifold volume and engine RPM to determine turbocharger boost pressure. When the engine is utilizing boost pressure, the ECU will light a lamp on the instrument panel. If the turbocharger boost pressure increases abnormally, the ECU will light the ``Check Engine'' lamp.
