Procedure A

CAM TYPE DOWN STOPS


CAUTION: DURING THIS ADJUSTMENT, LOWER THE TOP ONLY WHEN PROCEDURE CALLS FOR LOWERING.

STACK HEIGHT:




1. MEASURE TOP STACK HEIGHT.
(a) Lower top all the way after making sure nothing is in the way.
(b) Using a straight edge and a scale, measure and record the distance between the top surface of the front rail to the top surface of the quarter belt molding as shown.

Specification 110 - 120 mm (4-3/8 - 4-3/4 in.) Difference from right side to left side must be less than 5 mm. If it requires adjustment, proceed to Step 2.

QUARTER TRIM PANEL REMOVAL:




2. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL INSERTS
(a) Using your fingers, pry loose the trim panel. There are six clips holding the panel insert.
(b) Disconnect the wire connectors and remove the quarter trim insert panel.

3. ADJUST DOWN STOPS
(a) Position the convertible top to about 3/4 of the way down.
(b) Locate the down-stop adjusting cam and lock nut behind the quarter trim panel and "B" pillar brace. See photo.
NOTE: IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO TRIM AWAY PART OF THE QUARTER INNER BLACK OUT PLASTIC PANEL TO ACCESS THE ALLEN SCREW IN THE CAM. THIS CAN BE DONE WITH THE TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY IN PLACE.
(c) Loosen the lock nut using a 3/4 in. open end wrench and adjust the down stop to the highest position by turning the cam using a 1/4 in. allen wrench.
(d) Tighten down-stop cam lock nut while holding the cam in position with the allen wrench.



4. ADJUST CONVERTIBLE TOP STACK HEIGHT
(a) Cycle the convertible top and lower it as far down as it will go.
(b) Place a straight edge across the top of the front rail assembly as shown.
(c) Measure the distance between the top surface of the front rail and the top surface of the quarter belt molding.
Specification: 110 - 120mm (4-3/8 - 4-3/4 in.) Difference from right side to left side heights must be less than 5mm.
(d) If stack height exceeds 120mm, raise the top slightly and adjust the down-stops downward.

CAUTION: DO NOT LOWER STACK HEIGHT LESS THAN 110MM OR POSSIBLE BREAKAGE TO THE BACKLITE MAY OCCUR.

CHECK BOOT INSTALLATION:

5. CHECK BOOT INSTALLATION
(a) Install boot side panels to vehicle.
(b) Check to be sure the boot side panels lock properly in place and there is no interference between the boot and the top. If there is interference between the boot and top and the boot doesn't fit, additional adjustments to down-stops will be necessary.
6. INSTALL QUARTER TRIM PANEL INSERTS
(a) Connect the wire connectors.
(b) Install quarter trim panel inserts.
